Hand-building & Sculpting
All skill levels welcome in Hand-building and Sculpting Classes.
No more than 6 students per class
Price includes use of tools, 1 bag of clay 25lb, glazing and firing of your work. Volume limitation apply.
Please bring a towel and Apron (apron is optional but useful)
Use of Reclaimed clay is free. Additional Clay is available for purchase.
8 Week Class - Cost is $330 plus tax and transaction fee
Students are welcome to use the studio outside of scheduled class time to practice and continue working on your pieces. While occasional questions are welcome, please refrain from requesting impromptu instruction during these times.
For additional guidance on a specific topic, you may schedule a private lesson at the following rates:
30-minute session: $75
1-hour session: $125
Please note that last-minute instruction requests will incur an additional 25% fee and are subject to instructor availability.
Make-up Classes: If you miss a session, you may sit in on another class if a seat is available. While we cannot guarantee availability, we will do our best to provide make-up options. All make-up sessions must be completed within the 8-week course period. The only exception is the final Glazing class; if missed, you may attend a subsequent glazing session to finish your work.
Finished Work: All projects must be completed and picked up within 60 days of the course completion. After 60 days, all items become the property of Cedar Oak Farm and will no longer be held.
Cancellations and Refunds: Cedar Oak Farm reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment. In this event, you will receive a 100% refund. If you need to cancel your enrollment, you must do so at least seven days before the class start date to receive a refund, minus a $25 processing fee. No refunds or "postponements" will be issued for student cancellations made within one week of the class start date. Please note that we are unable to accommodate unexpected life events that may prevent attendance.

A Taste in Clay - Mixing the Wheel and Hand-Building
This class spends 3 weeks on the potter's wheel and 3 weeks on sculpting or hand-building. After that, students can choose to work on longer projects. It helps you build skills in both areas and decide which style of clay work you like best.

Create meaningful projects with thoughtful guidance every step of the way. Beginners have the opportunity to learn by observing skilled, experienced artists in a supportive environment that removes any sense of pressure or rush. Meanwhile, more experienced students can continue to refine their techniques, tackle new challenges confidently, and grow their abilities with helpful expert tips and personalized feedback.
Friday Classes

Clay Experiences & Events
Create a unique clay piece and enjoy a fun, relaxed evening making friends and sharing stories. Events will focus on either hand-building or wheel throwing. Link to Calendar of events
