Make it stand out.
A Collective Community Garden in Fairview, Union County, North Carolina
It started with a small garden
It Ended with a lot of food waste. You know - Enough cucumbers to feed all of Fairview. Tomatoes beyond the number of jars you have to can.
What if you want the garden but it is too much to do alone. Or work requires you travel causing your garden to live on a hope and a prayer.
Or you live in an apartment or townhome and space is limiting.
Cedar Oak Farm is starting a Gardening Collective and is seeking interested participants.
Do you have experience in community or communal gardens? What was your experience? What worked for you? What didn’t? I would love to hear from you.
Here is the idea so far:
A garden for those willing to volunteer time and be a part of the garden planning for each season.
Must be willing to learn along with us about regenerative and organic gardening.
Must be willing to collectively work on the garden. This is not a community garden with rented beds - instead we will collectively plan and create a larger garden with a broader variety based on the interests of the collective group. Volunteer time is required to reap the benefits the garden will provide.
As the garden produces we all get to reap the rewards as each crop will be divided by the group.
The hope is many hands make the work light and the benefits worthwhile for every participant with far less food waste. Through this we all reap the rewards.
There could be some nominal collective cost depending on what the group determines is needed. Resourcefulness always welcomed.
For now all inquiries and ideas welcomed as we develop a plan. Get on the mailing list for First meeting dates and times etc..
Fall garden will be started - Collective will be formalized to begin in February for Spring.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sounds like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest.
